The design for the new council chamber of the municipality of Drimmelen by M+R interior architecture is a revolution in the way democratic processes are facilitated. After a design competition, M+R's design was unanimously selected as the new council chamber. The flexible oval layout promotes equal interaction between council members and the council, while advanced technology ensures an accessible meeting experience for everyone involved. After the renovation, the renovated council chamber can also be used for weddings, training and presentations.
Symbolism and identity are reinforced by a specially printed carpet with a panoramic view of the municipality of Drimmelen and a photo wall with recognizable local places. The light ornament in the ceiling, which symbolizes the nature reserve around the municipality of Drimmelen of the nearby Biesbosch national park, serves as a visual reminder of sustainability and ecological awareness.
The council approved the design and investment last week. The realization of this innovative design will be completed by mid-2024.
