The office project at the Kennedy Tower in Eindhoven embodies the core values of M+R interior architecture: sustainability, circularity, and innovation. Originally designed for HERE Technologies, M+R reconfigured the existing interior to align with the identity and needs of its new tenant, Forvis Mazars. This project highlights how the reuse of materials and furnishings contributes not only to environmental sustainability but also to aesthetic and functional excellence.
From HERE Technologies to Forvis Mazars
In 2016, M+R developed an innovative workspace for HERE Technologies in the Kennedy Tower, strategically located next to Eindhoven Central Station. Spanning nine floors, the design featured unique layouts and thematic elements inspired by global regions and navigation, aligning with HERE's core business. The workspace prioritized sustainability and employee well-being, with thoughtful attention to climate control, acoustics, lighting, and ergonomics. As HERE scaled back its spatial requirements due to digitization and hybrid working, M+R facilitated a seamless transition, connecting HERE with Forvis Mazars. This led to the sustainable repurposing of the 10th floor. Key elements of the original design, such as system walls and fixed furnishings, were retained, while the interior was updated to reflect Forvis Mazars' corporate identity. Subtle enhancements in the color palette and furnishings ensured a fresh yet familiar aesthetic.
The new Forvis Mazars office
The Forvis Mazars office exudes tranquility and openness, striking a balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The workspace features diverse zones for work and collaboration, including quiet workstations, team spaces, meeting rooms, and focus areas. Strategic greenery and smart spatial planning create a healthy and inviting environment, encouraging employees to engage with the office. The hybrid work concept seamlessly meets modern demands for flexibility and productivity.
Located in the heart of Eindhoven, the Kennedy Tower offers Forvis Mazars a prime strategic base. M+R has crafted a workspace that is not only functional and contemporary but also circular and future-proof. Despite the original design being nearly eight years old, the office feels brand-new, thanks to careful reuse and meticulous refinishing.
Sustainability and Innovation: The Essence of M+R
The initial project for HERE Technologies exemplifies M+R’s vision of innovative and sustainable work environments. Focused on sensory experience and well-being, the design incorporated elements such as climate control, acoustics, lighting, scent, and tactility. These principles were seamlessly carried over into the redesign for Forvis Mazars, underscoring the strength of a circular approach.
Through this methodology, M+R unlocks the potential of existing buildings while delivering tailored, high-quality solutions for new occupants. The Kennedy Tower project demonstrates how reuse and innovation can converge to create inspiring, sustainable workspaces.
